

Pikes Peak is “America’s Mountain” and at the summit, there is a brand new visitors center. Drive up to 14,115′ to enjoy the view but make sure your brakes are good for the drive down!

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad takes you, as the name implies, from Durango to Silverton. It is a 3-foot wide track that travels 45.2 miles! You can reserve a wide range of cars to ride on, whether you would like an open-air experience or one of the luxury cars.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison is one of four National Parks in Colorado. The 12-mile road on the southern edge has many places to pull over and enjoy the views of this very steep canyon. You can drive down to the Gunnison river on the East Portal road.

Mesa Verde National Park is where Ancestral Pueblo people built thriving communities on the mesas and in the cliffs. There are many ruins to visit and explore as well as hikes.

Garden of the Gods is one of the most popular tourist spots in Colorado Springs. A wonderful, peaceful place to see the red rocks with the front range mountains as a backdrop. There are many hikes/walks you can do around this park. Start at the new Visitors center for information.

Lake Jocassee is a beautiful lake in the northwestern corner of South Carolina. Our good friends, Shawn and Amy treated us to a pontoon boat ride where we explored many coves in the lake with scenic waterfalls.

Antelope Canyon: Near Page, AZ, tours of the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon are available. The colors of the sandstone rocks are amazing!

Horseshoe Bend: Close to Antelope Canyon, a horseshoe-shaped formation of the Colorado River in the Glen Canyon Recreation area

Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park are in California’s southern Sierra Nevada mountains. So many huge sequoia trees to see!
